"Come on, follow me."

"You're going to fast, wait up."

I slowed down a little bit. I lifted the branch of a low tree limb as she ducked under it. I grasped her hand and started pulling her along the path. She laughed as the forest whisked by in shades of green and brown. She started pulling at my hand.

"Come on, I need to rest a minute." She said as she pulled me to a stop and sat down on a rock.

I looked down at her and smiled. "I love you."

"I know," she said, looking up at me. Her eyes glistened. I reached down and brushed a lock of hair out from her face. Then let my finger trail down to her chin. She moved slightly forward, pressing her lips to my finger. I smiled. Then ran.

"Wait!" She got up and ran after me.

Once again the forest whisked by. We ran, her half a heart beat behind me. slowed down this time. "Ok, we can rest now" I said, somewhat out of breath.

She just smiled and ran on. "This is great, she's leading and she doesnt' even know where we're going," I said as I ran after her.

She stopped. Infront of us was a small river flowing in a shallow gully.

She stood there looking at it. The canopy let in small shafts of light, and each one seemed to illuminate a flower. An offering from the earth to the goddess of beauty, my love.

"This is beautiful," her voice rang with the sounds of the tinkling water. She jsut stood there, her eyes looking at everything. I reached down, and picked a flower. A golden blossom. I turned her to where she was only looking at me. Our eyes locked. I gently traced the contours of her face with the flower. Trying to capture the beauty I see in her, into that one flower. Made ugly when placed against her face. I then wove the flower in her hair.

"I love you," was all she said before she brushed her lips against mine.

Our kiss ended, and we just stood there looking at each other, listening to the sound of the forest, the tinkle of the water, and the flow of the wind.

"I love you more," I said, then kissed her, then ran back through the woods. Letting her catch up to me, we ran, hand in hand, heart in heart.
