Where are you

Please, God, show me
all of who I am
show me how to see myself,
and how to make them understand.
Tell me why I love 
the wrong people so terribly much.
I know love hurts, but God
it shouldn't kill the good in me.
And if it isn't love
why won't it go away.
I swear I've tried, but more and more
this feeling eats my soul.
Lord please show me who I am,
than take this hurt away.
I'd do it if I thought I might
but I've never been in control.
