The Love

On the day that I met you
The chorus sang and trumpets blew,
Fireworks exploded way up high,
Beautifully painting the night sky.
The angels had the biggest feast;
My god, I swear there was world peace.
And in that moment when our eyes met
I knew that you I'd never forget.
And in that single instant of time,
When all the bells began to chime;
I knew that I had found the love ,
The love I had been dreaming of.
The one I had been waiting for
Ever since the day I was born.
And in that fateful, timeless moment,
Across the heavens shot a comet;
Announcing that there was a birth
Of the rarest love to grace the Earth,
And the stars emitted a gentle light
Embracing us on that great night.
The man in the moon, he softly smiled
And looked on us like father to child;
And every bird in every tree
Sang a song for you and me,
And all the trees serenely swayed
Offering us their cool, cool shade,
They created a wind and set it on course
To ring every chime on every porch.
And all of the people across the world
Paused-for the boy and the girl;
The ones who were the recipients of
This everlasting, unique love.
And the ones who did receive this gift,
The ones awarded this sweet trip-
Were none other than me and you,
It sounds crazy, yet it's true.
From the second I saw you standing there,
In front of me with your golden hair;
I knew no other would ever do,
My heart was meant for only you.
