Scratching the Surface

 Scratch the surface
Friend.
A friend on the surface
A lover underneath.

In the deepest
And darkest recesses of
My soul
My heart beats.

It holds a love for you
Unequaled to any except
To that of God.

If my love where a crystal vase
In which you could measure
My love for you.
You would find that all the water in all the oceans
Would not be enough to fill it.

All I want to do
Is give all of it
And all of me to
You.

I've submerged you beneath me,
Into my naked emotion.
Which I have kept hidden.
No Barriers.
I lay exposed.

Now I ask you: Friend.
What if any,
Lies beneath the surface,
Of you?
