Union

If I could be with you
at this moment
I would devour you whole
consume you with my desire
my passion so intense
that my merest touch
would scorch you
the brush of my lips
upon you
would singe you
my embrace would
enfold you so completely
that you would be
utterly lost within me
and when at last
our physical union
was consummated
the intensity of it
would melt the flesh
from our bones
until only our souls remained
rising to heaven
as a wisp of smoke
united as one 
for all eternity
