The sun shined on me this weekend.
Twice I woke to you
after twice falling asleep 
to the gentle sound of you breathing.
Two years I've waited for you
and this weekend assured me 
of what I already knew-
that you are worth waiting for.
Now Sunday night
I sit alone
the miles back between us as
they always are, 
and I wonder if anything has changed.
The pin that you gave me at the game
sits on my bureau
as a reminder that you are real
and so was this weekend 
and for now
that is enough.
