Emotions Fade In Time, Even Yours

I'm still here 
And I have a life, yes 
And I am happy as any one can be 
Who's lost their best friend 

Nothing has faded within me 
And I wonder why that is 
When you promised it would be so 
Did you not say, "Emotions fade in time, 
even yours?" 

I understand only this 
That I understand too little 
But I do know 
My heart has remained steady 

And I know my spirit better now 
Who tells me to stop wearing that mask 
And that I should face the pain 
But I am afraid 
I don't know why ... 

And I haven't let my Self cry lately 
In fear of what I may find in those tears 

And I'm asking myself only one question now 
While my spirit whispers 
Let yourself feel 
Let yourself feel ...
