firm foundation

Of course Life is not fair
The only guarantee we were born with was
that no one gets out of here alive
Of course we never intended to fall in love
or to fly so high into the hearts of each other
but we have
Why we need to make sense out of it
is in itself a big mystery
I don’t even know where to start
This love has shaken the foundations of my life
and re-arranged everything
What you have given me, by just being who you are
Has changed me forever
I will love you at least that long
A bedrock truth on which all others are built
