Before I met you

Love is the calm on a dark summers night
Love is the sound as a dove takes flight.
My soul was empty before I met you
Dark and cold not much I could do.
You have taught me how to open up and trust
Much more to how I feel than animal lust.
I've hurt you before and will again
But you must know you'll always be much more than a friend.
I feel lost and confused when your not around
My soft side is now free, where once it was bound.
What I'm trying to say if life is much better with you around
We were two lonely spirits searching for the love that 
Now has been found.
