the mark you left was so deep
and the me you saw was not
my wild hatred of you

i hate anything with authority on me
twisting your love 
with belittling words

i watched you melt in front of me
cruelty my cover
indifference my salvation
id give my life to sheild you from pain
you could never know
how your gentle heart felt against my teeth 
as my selfishness ate you alive
the taste you left poisons my conscience
as i hate my entire being for doing as i have done
