i drink the lies like wine
and play the role without flaw.
i am your salvation.
i can save you.
one day you're gonna wake up and realize
i was what you needed all along.

and you're just not ready yet.
and you just need some time.
and you're just afraid of what you're feeling.
and you just don't know how to say it.
and you just don't want to rush into it.

everybody keeps saying i'm a fool,
and that i should have better sense,
and that they expected more from me, 
and that i deserve so much more.

but it isn't their flattery that keeps the tears from fallin',
and it isn't their encouragement that prevents me from breakin' down.

no, there ain't nothin but your touch that keeps me going.
nothin but your lies that makes it alright.
