Message In a Bottle

If I were to send a message in a bottle
This is what it would say
"Help me for I have found myself
Drowning and drifting away."

I've awoken to find that I'm stuck out at sea
I can see the trail from where I have come
But I'm surprised to find where it's leading me
And shocked when I realize where I am

Only people in trouble send messages in bottles
This is what I've come to find
So, if anyone happens upon my letter
Get a search party in line

I feel like I can't keep my head above water
Floating farther away from dry land
Held down by the wind and crashing waves
And my life slipping out of my hands

If someone could hear me, I think I would shout
But my voice is so tired and hoarse
Any my mind is spinning, my body weak
And my heart doesn't hope anymore

So, before I go under, I'll cast out this note
Maybe my plea will be found
And I'll try to hang on to the strength I have left
But it's hard and I'd just rather drown
