You tell me that you love me
as if this time you were giving me
the shareware
the latest version of your heart
complete with the software key
as if you would let me keep it

You seem to expect that I will gleefully
overlook all the bugs
in this latest hasty release
and just use your package exclusively
though programmed inelegantly 
and not fully compatible with my hardware

In this information age,
when the mind is forced to process
vast amounts of information
still make sense of the world somehow,
the heart still operates 
outside of the binary code
beyond the boundaries of the machine
and its operating system does not compute 
your latest input
