Prom Night
Prom Night
By:James P.
It all began one warm May night,
I was so very nervous my stomach uptight.
I could feel her every step descending each stair,
a red dress on her body with a red rose in her hair.
We started the night out with smiles and laughter,
but the night would finish like no other ever after.
Although I knew I was her high-school crush,
just looking at her gaze gave me that first time rush.
We took pictures for the family my girl and I,
hoping the high on life feeling wouldn't pass by.
Smiling for the camera there was no sense of trauma,
anticipating the night - but not expecting the drama.
We then parted for the prom,
said good-bye to my Dad and Mom.
I though to myself while driving to the dance,
contemplating my actions for when I got my first chance.
I still thought to myself as we lined up for pictures
about our love - as sacred as Bible scriptures.
We then made our way to the crowed dance floor,
My heart was a room and my girl held keys to the door.
My good friend was arranging a room at a hotel,
He knew about my dream because him I had to tell.
I gave him the idea and he knew of my fear,
but he did it anyhow so my girl could feel cheer.
After the dance we left for the place,
all the while just staring at her face.
We entered the elevator at the hotel,
a secret 4 flights up that I wanted to tell.
I asked my girlfriend to wait outside,
illuminating the room she saw the inside.
She was shocked to find champagne and wine,
and the rose petals insured that she would be mine.
We explored our bodies after slipping our clothes off,
she felt tender kisses on her neck so sensual and soft.
I laid her softly on a bed highlighted by a rose,
realizing how happy we were with the decision we chose.
I miss you babe,
what can I say?
I love you with all my heart,
and I hope that we will never ever part.
