Silence

Have you ever heard the sound silence makes?

I never really noticed it until you were gone.

The defeaning roar consumes the air around me.

I used to hear the sound of you breathing;

Like a soft lullaby it always comforted me.

But now the sound of silence tears through the air,

In unison with the sound of tears as they hit my pillow.
