starlit

this one is for you
   and you know
    who you are
  my distant twinkling
    lucky star
  I closed my eyes
      and wished
        on you
    and when your lips
       touched mine
      it all
     came true

  through all of time
   and much of space
   I have reserved for you
    a place
  deep inside where no one goes
    and there it shimmers
    and there it glows

 who knows what will happen
    on love's hard route
    all I know is that the light
      you have lent me
       will never
         burn out
