Sweet Paradise

I marveled at the breath-taking sight
Like I haven’t seen it before
God’s perfect masterpiece
Wishing I have time for more.

He held my hand, softly, gently
A comforting touch of a loving angel
Feeling safe with his presence
Overwhelmed by his powerful spell.

As I watch heaven’s breath
Embracing the skin of her little garden
I realize that this realm is only a dream
A fantasy, an ideal world to live in

He pressed my hand with such baby force
Sensing… quietly telling me he’s there for me
To face what’s beyond this sweet paradise,
Not knowing what awaits us back in the city.

I took my last glance as we started to leave
Sadly knowing this may be the end
Silently wishing we could go back to this sweet paradise
And fall in love all over again.
