One Question
There comes a time when lovers part, when trees are bare and roses die.
There comes a place where joy meets hatred and love comes flashing by.
I made a vow to myself to harden and solidify my heart.
That pledge not only caused you pain, but it tore my world apart.
Now as I decide which path I take, I look at you with loving eyes.
I see not a man with pride and strength, but a boy unable to say goodbye.
We've so often crossed this line before. A line between friendship and love.
We've made so many mistakes, but we're still so unwilling to give up.
We've said farewell to yesterdays and lonely nights ago.
We've reached the peak of heartbreak; a mountain topped with snow.
We search for different hurdles, another obstacle around.
But there's nothing left of this journey, the only way is down.
The question is will you go or should I?
Cruel Fate has left us with a love that wasn't destined to thrive.
I walk around in a daze, not knowing where to run.
It feels like we ended the greatest love story, before it even begun.
But how is it possible for heaven and earth to collide?
How does love come through when the heart is blocked with pride?
I have one more question before I walk away.
Why is one foot outside the door, but the heart still aches to stay?
