Words Can Hurt Me

Just as a melody gives character to a song
So does a tone of voice change 
      The meaning behind the words
Just as a hand can bruise another’s body
So can one’s words 
         Ravage another’s confidence,
Destroy another’s spirit, erase a person’s being
           And extinguish a life
