A Lovers Ballet

I strike up a sentence, the melody starts,
Our minds, both as one, start to sway,
Enriched with the music we hear in our hearts,
 Begins our sweet lover's ballet.

So light, so gentle, yet purposely placed,
We play out this secretive dance.
The ground that we share keeps us light in the air,
In an atmosphere rich in romance.

I stay at your side, as once more we do glide,
Through a slow motion lovers embrace.
You smile up at me, as I look down and see,
How my tears stain the cheeks on your face.

Long deep in the night, we both find our delight,
In the purity that makes us one.
Silver mist all around, we leap high from the ground,
As the music plays endlessly on.

Such heaven and hell, is this dance we know well,
Where both pleasure and pain at last meet.
As one we do fly, as we soar up so high,
Yet a thousand thorns lay 'neath our feet.

Together again, we are blind to this pain,
On this magical dream we do feed.
Two as one, we together, will dance on forever,
Doomed to fail, but to also succeed.

As in dreamland I drown, I see roses put down,
On a doorstep, along with a note.
As the mist starts to rise, and I open my eyes,
I can see what had clearly been wrote.

Such sadness is shown, in these roses once grown,
As they land at your door a bouquet
While severed and bound, yet such beauty be found,
What sweet memory, our lovers ballet...
