Circle, Not a Square

If I can have a corner then I can rest my
weary soul and lick my wounds. I can have
a place where I could sit awhile and think
and look back at where I've been and maybe
see the way ahead so that I could prepare
for all obstacles that I may encounter.
If I could have a corner then I can gather
what's left of my heart and try to complete
it again. Just a corner to buy some time
to console myself, to forget, to remember,
to pick up the scattered pieces of my
dreams. I can make decisions and conclusions
and revise my plans if neccesary. Boxers
are lucky for they fight in a square ring.
I'm fighting in a circle.
