Elated

alarm clock sounded
like music as I left
dreamland
do be do be do
flowers smelled perfume
as they blossom painted
against dawn-tinted
wallpaper.
slid both feet thru
grinning fur slippers
that tickled my soles,
I almost laughed aloud.
sunny-yellow buttered
pancakes tasted and
filled my belly like feast.
these things were never like
this, or had they gone
unnoticed by my sullen eyes
before?
nice to wake up this morning!
puffy-eyed, yet so alive though
got only three hours of sleep.
knowing this day and
the next days to come
will now contain
something that is you.
