gods

Untouching,
we watch each others soul as they soar
towards the black curtain studded with
diamonds, seeking, reaching out, embracing,
kissing while men sleep on our side of the
sphere. We watch them become one soul,
temporarily ceasing the constant search for
reasons and explanations.

Untouching,
our soul takes us farther, higher, 'til the green
orb seems like a ball we can enclose in our hands,
so small, so very small. We're unaffected by the
laws of physics hatched by mortals for we are gods
now, with the power to destroy the universe with a
single word.

Untouching,
we find ourselves alone with our soul, unmindful of
everything but us, yes us, together in a place we knew
so well but haven't seen before.
We finally understand it all.
