Forbidden Love

She spreads her wings as if to fly
Reaches the edge but can't say goodbye...
She's bound by love within her heart
Enduring the pain, not wanting to part...
A lingering moment so short and sweet
To live for an hour so they can meet...
His lips, his smile, his warmth, his touch
His arms around her, she needs so much...
She closes her eyes, afraid to cry
And prays her thoughts may reach the sky...
To him him for her very own
And never spend her nights alone...
To never cry a single tear
And always know that he is near...
She wonders what her future holds
Can she survive and endure the cold??
She watches months roll into years
Living on love to subside her tears...
She knows the end is drawing near
Loosing him, her greatest fear...
He will not leave and turn away
How long will she wait?  How long can she stay??
