Travel to a Friend..

So you traveled some difficult miles
Through the façade of often faked smiles
And endured some heartfelt injuries
Through people, not really your enemies

But I listened, tried to understand
As you encouraged me, my joy to mend
Through decisions, tough ones we all face
And err or not, there is no disgrace

For correct choices are often learned
Often, after our hearts, souls have burned
And suffered the unknown travesty
Of discomfort, pain, humility

I know you were fighting tears
For acceptance, that is your fear
But me, I had an ear to lend
Your supporting friend.
