WINDOW

I looked out of the window
And I can see the rain had started.
The glass dampens and blurs
Or was it my eyes that had watered?

The weather agrees with me
As I believe this is totally unfair
I can’t seem to find the happy smile
That I usually wear.

The lonely tears in my eyes
Emanated from who knows where
The unbearable sting stabbed
My heart on its part we used to share.

I don’t want to think about you
I just want to be alone
Free from your images and memories
To be emotionally on my own.

As I watched the rain pour
I pray for the silence it promises after
Wishing it penetrates thru my soul
To bring me the peace I’ve been wishing for.
