What Color

I believe that love is love.
We cannot subdivide it into
Neat categories. There are
Infinite shades of color,
Infinite shades of gray.

What color is my love for you?
What different hue than your love for me?
How do you judge the distance
Between two colors?

As if by artist’s brush, 
Colors blend and change.
As if by sun’s assault
Colors fade in time.

How different will the colors be tomorrow?
Why wash the palate clean?
Let’s let the colors flow 
Where they may
And see.
