Detached from my heart
My mind whispers in my ear
trying to convince me
that there is a reason
I have been placed on
the back burner of the stove of your life
I don't want to hurt you
by putting pressure on top
of everything else that has turned 
your life totally upside down
and inside out
But I don't like feeling
as if I am nothing more
than a complication.
