I just knew

a stupid info-mercial on at 2 in the morning 
as we lay on the fold out couch 
your body asleep in the darkness 
with my arms around you like 
the warm fuzzy blanket 
you sleep like a baby 
and i'm as uncomfortable as can be 
but i bear the pain 
cause i know i there's no place 
where i'd rather be 
and i wish this momment would last forever 
but i know it can't

you wake up to my sudden movement 
when i try to turn off the tv 
and you wonder where you are 
then you look back 
and you stare deep into my eyes 
you see me looking back 
with a little smirk 
and you smile back 
and we lay back down 
then fall asleep 
and that's when 
i knew i loved you
