One Sweet Kiss
One sweet kiss in the silence of the darkest hour
Soft as petals from a newborn flower
Fallen from your lips of wine
And come to rest gently on mine
As shadows form to cloud the pain
A ray of light breaks through the rain
The forbidden touch fuels passion's fire
To warm the traveler lost in the mire
Of caution's destitude and tears
Of poet's hopes and lover's fears
For as I hold your hand in mine
Tis one sweet kiss erased from time
