Knock Knock

Gently you rap
and tap into my soul
with conversations remembered
and tokens of such
telling me, silently,
that you listen.
Your honest emotion
is refreshing
and rare.
You make me want
to be the open person
that I used to be
before others before you
bent and twisted me
into the cynic I've become.
Is it possible
that sometimes
there are no lies,
and skeletons,
but rather true caring
for another
and this is what you
have for me?
Your tapping is soothing
and unfaltered.
Should I let you in?
