Let me shelter you
from the rage of reality
the impingement of the world
with its harsh face 
pressed against the glass of
the window to us.
Let me draw the curtains
and hold you close to me
in the safety of this
room of our love.
Let me bar the door
against intrusions of
those who would steal
our moments of bliss
where we are the only two
people who have ever loved
and will ever love each other.
