Notch in your bedpost.
I feel a heaviness surround me
as you kiss me good-bye.
Am I just a passing fancy?
or a toy you'd like to try?
Am I a trophy for your shelf?
Or the fish who's taken the bait?
Another notch in your bedpost?
A lost soul to liberate?
If this is all you see in me
you should act in haste.
Let me know so I can go,
I've not got time to waste.
But if I am a kindred soul,
and my thoughts are merely fears,
Tell me you'll not hurt my heart,
and that you'll kiss away these tears.
