Will You Marry Me? - Now?

I have never written an engagement poem before,
so please be gentle I implore.

With these words I will hopefully express,
the beating of my heart within my chest.

For the beating of my heart sings your praise,
it will continue all of my days.

The amount of love I feel cannot be explained,
it has grown so much, like a match becomes a flame.

That flame has become a raging fire,
it consumes me and will never tire.

This fire must go with you all your days,
So this diamond is a symbol of the fire of my love, and with you it will stay.

Every time you gaze upon this ring,
please know that what you see is a reflection of
the fire of my love, and a reminder of the song my heart sings.

So as we embark together on this journey through life,
will you do me the honor and become my wife?

If the answer is yes, and you wear this ring,
the fire will burn hotter, and joy to my heart you will bring.
