Red Roses

I would have sent red roses
But where would you keep them?

	Would you find a vase to put them in
   	Or would you lay them on your desk for a day,
   	Then throw them away?

   	Besides, red roses wilt in time.

Rather, I thought, to give you this potted flower.
It may not seem as lovely now,
But in time, it’s beauty will grow.
