Romance

Romance is not born on the pages of novels, nor is its feeling derived from the screen of a film. It is alive in us, everyday, as we go through life and dream of the person that we want to be, strive to be the person we can be, and live to be the person we are. Are the joy and the sadness, the tears and the laughter, the peace and the war within us not romantic? Yes. Yes they are. For there, inside of us, that which makes us unique lies the romance.

Throughout the heavens and lighted by each of a billion stars, are two hearts which burn with the heat of passion of a thousand suns, and yearn to be together, if only for an instant, that moment in which they both know that happiness is real and love is final. That life is only a reflection of the tenderness and caring that is given, and in so doing, received.

In the lives of those of us who journey but to find that love..that one great love..a passing smile, a caressing touch, a knowing glance of what it is like to be alone, beckons to us. So in that solace, we journey on, with the knowledge that we are never alone, nor are we misunderstood nor forsaken. Merely not yet found, not yet taken for what we are, not yet loved. And it not only can be, but will be..no..must be, for that is why we are here. Not just to survive but to have purpose and meaning. To have strength and clear conviction of life. And love. To make better what is not, to improve what can be, and to love with every part of our hearts and our being so that we may not leave this world without the peaceful knowledge, that it was worth living. Love makes it so.

I have found that you are the poetry in this world. That earth is the paper on which you are, lovely to read, and inspiring to behold. And my words only diminish the feelings that flow from me, like the cool water of a quiet stream as it twists and turns down the mountainside, searching for release into the river and finally the ocean of love, which is you.

I want only to be able to lift you up, to the top of the world, let you smile and laugh, fill your heart with joy and contentment, hold your hand in mine, provide comfort and care, kiss your lovely velvet lips for sustenance and love you for all the rest of time.

My heart aches with desire, my blood boils with passion, my eyes cry for the instance of a gaze upon your beauty. Like the warm wind of an ocean breeze, I want to wrap around you like a blanket of comfort that shields you from all sadness that may come your way. I want to drink from your love and taste your life. Be with me always. You are the breath that I take, the beat of my heart, the vision of my dreams and the reason for my very existence. Allow me my life’s fulfillment and let me be yours as you are mine. This would complete me.
