Windows of the Soul

The eyes show us so many things
that we just overlook.
They show when you are sad or gay
just like an open book.
They say that one can see the soul
shining there inside.
If you look in hard enough,
there's nothing they can hide.
So if you have a secret that you
wish not to reveal,
Cast down your eyes and shield them
from the ones who seeks to steal,
the very things you've hidden
there inside yourself so deep
That only come to haunt you
when you lay and fall asleep.
