Tomorrow

There is no need to stop and stare
You don't have to wonder why it isn't there
The happiness, the shine, the glow
After all, you never promised me tomorrow.

You never promised me the stars or the moon
I knew it wouldn't be forever, but I didn't expect it so soon
You never promised to give me the sun
All that was promised was some fun.

That you gave and much much more
Before you left me standing here outside the door
You shut the door and hid the key
Why, I'll never know, the answer I can not see.

It all just happened so very fast
I guess deep down, I knew it wouldn' last
And now tomorrow seems so far away
But all I can do, is live for today.

After all is said and done,
There's no longer time for any fun
Now I have to just let it all go
After all, you never promised me tomorrow.
