I Make a Better Window Than a Door

i make a better window than a door
i always get looked through
looked past
to another place
another thought
i am nice to open when someone needs a little fresh air,
but
unlike the door, i never get a turn
oh well,
i guess that i am happy
after all, if it wasn't for me, people would suffocate
i don't mind being a window
after all, i provide direction and structure
but, when my job is done
i just go back to being a hole
in the wall
overlooked
oh well, such is the life of a window.
