someone you can't change

do you ever wonder what goes on in the mind of an ex-lover
does he miss you
does he loath you
who is really to say
but I do wonder if he will miss me someday
when the leaves have turned and the sky is gray
did he not know how much I really cared
or did he not care about being loved
I often sit and remember the days that went by
and I can only say that I will miss him even though I hated his ways
he knew how to make me laugh although he more often made me sad
he knew not how to love because he never saw love
and when he did..he didn't know what to do with it
he was blind to the fact that I knew who he really was when he didn't know himself
I will always love him for he was my best friend 
although I realize that our souls didn't blend
he has his own way and chooses to be alone
I just wish I would have know
for then I had to put away my broken heart
I have known him for more than 12 years
and he went though this big change 
over night it seemes he turned into something I can't explain
do you know what drugs are?
well they are all the same
they took the life of someone I knew
someone I loved and cared for too
although he is not in the grave 
I can say that he has lost his way
he no longer has me or his family
all he has is shame 
so in this lesson if you are in love with someone 
put yourself first or you will have to suffer
always remember that you must love yourself to be able to love
and it is the same the other way around
If someone doesn't love themself then they can't love you
just find someone who can
