but it's april first
and i wait 
nailbiting 
by the phone 
pretending 
i don't care 
(as if that stupid
phone
believes it 
for a second) 
and occupying 
myself 
with flighty thoughts
of how we were 
and how we aren't 
and the cure 
only depresses me 
but i can't 
turn it off
because it 
reminds me of you.
