Waking in the morning
after a good night's sleep,
I put my arms around you,
and kiss you on the cheek.
We get in your truck,
no destination, just to ride.
It's nice to be nowhere
without being pressed for time.
We go to the lake
and sit in the sun
while the cool breeze blows
through my hair undone.
Riding the roads,
observing nature as it is.
Could there ever be,
a more truthful bliss?
Shooting guns off bridges
with an echoing sound.
I'm just so thankful
we had a chance to get out of town.
It's just another day gone by,
another day at it's end
but I'm glad I spent it,
only hanging out with some friends!
