One More Color
I am not one to criticize
or rate one's masterpiece
I am not an artist
or a creator
to say the very least
but if given the chance to alter
this palette you chose with care
I'd like to add another color
to the many already there
My hunny can see the brilliant red
you used to paint my lips
He sees the tone of creamy flesh
right down to my fingertips
He sees the strands of flashing light
you streaked thru my golden hair
He even sees my warm-brown eyes
melting for him there
He sees real fine in colored tones
my dress ,to him, azure
But the whites and undertones
to him, are nothing but a blur
He has never seen a shade he'd call
plain red or simply blue
His keenest eye can even spy
a rainbow's many hues
Yet, his eyes go blind when brilliance fails
to knock him to his knees
So, I'd like to add some color
to these tears he doesn't see
