like i'm a fence
i know, you're all hot and bothered by the tall and handsome grass standing
on the other side of me

take your lawnmower and head on over to the weedy heaven you just fell for
yeah, i will miss you

it's a pretty nice looking lawn
from here
oh, i'll be fine
i've got some wildflowers i'm mixing in with the grass in my yard
they're going to be beautiful
it'll take a little time
need to do some watering and nurturing
need to learn how to make them bloom
for me
how can i not take it personally?

it's all just a matter of time
eventually somebody who really likes wildflowers will be walking by
and see mine
and maybe decide she wants to spend some time with me
and ask me about how i grew such a beautiful flowers
i'll just tell her they aren't that beautiful
that i've got better ones i'm just planting
and that she'd be welcome to stay if she promises not to trample them
and maybe even help with their care
