First Kiss
When I was nine
and kissed my first boy
I nearly died...
laughing
He was ten
and had just begun
to think girls were cool
(I had known 'that' all along)
It wasn't that his kiss was funny
nor that he was particularly funny while doing it
(The kiss I mean)
It was more the way that WE did it together
that made me laugh:
Tilting our heads the same way then back again
Trying to make our lips meet without bumping noses
Not quite overcoming our syncronized heads
before squishing our faces together in frustration and kiddie-passion
And not knowing what to do once our lips finally met and we
wiggled our noses free of each other
We were sort of dumbfounded
Standing there lip-locked with no inkling as to what to do next
So, I began to snicker
and then snicker some more
and then I BURST out LAUGHING!
...I never saw that boy again
Sheesh! Go figure!
