Blessed sight or is it?
What do you dream,
when you can not see?
What kind of goals do you set,
when the fullfillments,
you don't know how to be.
Do you dread darkness with "NO lIGHT"
to guide your way?
or do you anticipate night's coming
to end the pain of day?
When we slumber what takes you
through the night?
What images do you hear or feel
because you haven't the ability of sight?
Are your dreams made of what you touch or smell?
How could you explain in words
of what you've never seen or been able to tell?
I think your dreams are more precious,
than we could ever perceive.
Because we take for granted ,
all the things the blind only wish they could see.
Our troubles we take into the night
but for you,
sleep, is the time for
your imagination to take flight.
Your fantasies come from deep within your heart
and although images you may not see,
from your world of darkness,
you may wish to depart.
Remember the grass on the other side
is not always as green
as you may want it to be.
What a blind person sees,
as they close their eyes in the night
will never be understood
to those of us with the ability of sight.
How do we know how you feel
how could we mend wounds
we know not how to heal.
As you slumber knowing
you will never see morning's light
Remember your life as just one long dream,
because you the fortunate ones,
are blessed with the gift of eternal night.
