Now I see!

As I lay awake thinking not of
tasks I need to do or 
pain I need to endure but of your face
your hands, your mind 
as you look into me absorbing
the knowledge of my love. 

I close my eyes and sleep comes no longer
struggling but comforted by 
dreams of you, your body
laying next to mine. Your heart beating
with my own.  

In my sleep I feel you 
our bodies in a flailing joyful embrace
your essence filling me 
with warmth and comfort
and with a growing need
for more of you.

I look into your eyes as I awake 
and in that moment I know too.
