Shine for me tonight,
when the blackness , that is always there
grows bold.
Light this candle,
so cold in my hands, it burns.
You gave me faith, an awakened spirit
where frustration turns transparent,
I reach for you.
This restoration lies dormant,
where your veil covers me
and your voice, like honey,
even in lament.
It flickers in your presence
and dies when you retreat.
I knew you before I knew life,
and yet you see nothing.
I know you, you are perfection,
and yet, you hear nothing,
and never will.
My boundaries lie before you,
my courage to conquer them,
beaten by years of pain,
is gone.
