my dream

some go through life still looking for that elusive dream
some found it but didnt recognize it and they let it go
some found it far away, some in a place they never expected
while some are lucky it was handed to them on a silver platter
all we ever do from day to day when we think about it
is look for that which our souls crave for and long for
and for those who found it, and knew, all they ever do
is hold on to it and never let it slip away from their grasp
some are seekers, some are keepers, some they just dont know
some need time to think if what they already have is really it
still some pretend that they dont really need it after all
and then break down and cry when it leaves them all alone
i found my dream in you and i admit i made mistakes along the way
i was one of them that stared the dream right in the eye and looked away
but you stayed and here i am doing what some are doing too
holding on to the dream, holding on to you, never letting go.
