Comic book hero

This boy from Smallville
moves to Metropolis,
takes a job at the Daily Planet,
meets a dark haired girl who needs
rescuing...over and over again.

He feebly hides his true identity
behind his Clark Kent glasses,
but takes long looks into her soul
with his X-ray vision.

There’s a chemistry between them
that neither one will ever
actually admit to or understand.
It might ruin the storyline.

He tries to pretend
he’s not a super hero,
just an every-day kind of guy,
not her type at all.
But she suspects there’s more
to his story,
after all...she’s a reporter.

You see, he magically appears
on rooftops every time she needs him.
He saves the girl, sleighs the villain,
then flies away into the night skies
with her safely wrapped
in his strong arms and red cape.

So Superman, can you read my mind?

If you get this message,
please rescue her again.
Lex Luthor is holding her
hostage in the suburbs.
